GGotW: How long have you been modeling?
DD: I have been modeling for about a year and a half now.

GGotW: What got you started in Modeling?
DD: Whenever I get asked that question its hard for me to explain. I have always been huge into alt fashion and the models I saw when I was growing up really inspired me even though they were high fashion and nothing like I do now. I didnt realize that there was an alt modeling scene really until I was about 16. I had always thought about modeling but pushed it aside until I turned 18. A week or so after I was 18 I just thought I would try it out and I liked it so I havn't stop.

GGotW: What led you on the path towards goth / alt scene?
DD: When I was about 11 my brother introduced me to The Misfits and I never really looked back :-p I was lucky enough to have someone in my family that had good taste in music. The Misfits then introduced me to other darker punk bands like The Damned and Samhain and then I found more darkwave and batcave stuff. I just knew it was for me. I never even really liked music until I heard The Misfits.

GGotW: Who have you modeled for?
DD: I have worked with Lush Latex They have really cute pin up looking latex designs,
Wisconsin Skinny and Just recently I worked with the wonderful Karen Von Oopen, she has beautiful neck corsets!

GGotW: Who have you modeled with?
DD: I have modeled with a few other Chicago models like Jessie-Lynne, Maya Sinstress, Amiria Divine and Lilith Ave Satanas. They are all beautiful and nice girls and I'm very lucky to call them all my friends.

GGotW: What types of clothes do you like to model?
DD: I LOVE latex. I always liked the way it looked but I just recently tried it on. I'm hooked! I love modeling anything odd and out there, I love any designs that look very apocalyptic like AMF Corsets.

GGotW: Why did you attend the Pontiac Michigan Exotica Expo?
DD: I had never attended a fetish event and Michigan is only a few hours from me so I thought I would try it out. I worked with a few photographers while I was there and networked and met other models and photographers. I'm glad I went and happy I didn't have to fly all the way to California or Florida where most of the fetish events seem to be held.

GGotW: Who did you meet?
DD: I met a lot of random people just attending and a few models like Angela Ryan, who was such a sweet girl.

GGotW: What are your modeling goals?
DD: I would like to work with more designers, that's a really big goal. I've only been in print once so I would really like to appear in more magazines. I'm trying to build my site right now as well. I try to go with the flow as much as possible and see where this all takes me.

GGotW: What print work have you done?
DD: I was in a magazine called Madison Magazine June 2008 (Its from Wisconsin, In the United States).

GGotW: When did you start modeling?
MN: I started modeling in September 2001 - I was accosted by somebody in a disco. After my first photo shoot I joined a few different model forums and socialized there with other photographers.

GGotW: What got you started?
MN: I started with gothic photography, in my private life I've been in the goth scene since 1998, but I also like other genres. I like: Gothic, fetish, horror, fantasy, trash, artistic nude, bodypainting, glamor, pin up... I am very versatile and I love it to show 1000 different faces. And I have a very black sense of humour, I like crazy ideas, they can be bloody, they can be sick, they can be striking...

GGotW: Has it been constant work or spotty?
MN: Both. Sometimes I had many photoshoots in a short time and sometimes I worked spotty. I actually have successfully completed over 220 shootings in Germany and in Switzerland.

GGotW: Have you worked with any big photographers?
MN: Yes, of course. I have worked with : Herr Buchta, Art in Black, Stephan Sackmann, Oliver Marzischewski, Nicolas Henri, Elisabeth Hackmann, Andreas Lehrke, Ulrich Grolla, Heile Mania, Peter Vyge ( Pevy ), Skunk(ed), Tom Bixx, Ruediger Schestag, Der Natzo, Michael Waldau...

Altogether I have worked with over 100 photographers.

GGotW: Have you made any magazine appearances? What was it like?
MN: Yes. I had publications in many different magazines ( Dark Spy, GOTHIC Magazine, Crawling Tunes Magazine, The Serpent ( UK ), Unscene Magazine ( UK ), FOTOHEFT, fotoMAGAZIN... ). In addition I had many publications on flyers and some publications in books.

GGotW: What area of Germany are you in?
MN: I live in the South West of Germany - near Heidelberg. It's in the North of the federal state Baden-Wuerttemberg.

GGotW: Can you describe the scene there?
MN: You can find many clubs here and some gothic shops - the scene in this area is very widespread. And there are some bigger and well-known festivals in Germany -

every year on Pentecost you can visit the WGT ( Wave-Gotik-Treffen ) in Leipzig, in late summer the M'era Luna festival happens in Hildesheim, furthermore there are some more festivals like the Amphi festival or the Feuertanz festival... And you also have some smaller festivals like the Dark Dance Treffen in Lahr, smaller events and many concerts.

The variety is really great !

GGotW: If someone was to visit, what shops would you send them to?
MN: Mannheim : BATCAVE / Gothic-Obsession
Karlsruhe : X-Tra-X, The Spirit Shop, Schwarzwaren

In classical gothic shops like them I buy in the main typical dark wear, vinyl clothing, corsets and gothic styled shoes. But often I buy my clothes in ordinary shops like H&M, too or sometimes I buy dark wear in sex shops.

GGotW: Are there any good clubs you could recommend?
MN: Of course !
Mannheim : Genesis, MS Connexion
Karlsruhe : Nachtwerk, Culteum
Stuttgart : Die Röhre
Darmstadt : Steinbruch-Theater ( gothic & metal )
Frankfurt ( Main ) : The Cave
Mainz : KUZ

But there are many more... ;)

GGotW: Where do you see yourself in five years?
MN: I don't know - but I hope, I can become bigger and more famous. Here in Germany many people in the Gothic scene know my name and know my photos. But it would be pretty cool, if I could be an internationally well-known Gothic model.

And I hope, I will still have a happy life in five years ;)

GGotW: What led you to the Gothic lifestyle?
AN: When I was little, I had a liking for dark things that I always repressed, thinking it was a bad thing. Back then, Romania was just recovering from the suppression of the Communism, so having an alternative lifestyle was something unthinkable. I also loved the perions gowns, with corsets and crinolines and felt somewhat sorry that no one wore them anymore. It was in 2005 that I started wearing dark colours, as 2 of my new school colleagues, that became my best friends, introduced me to heavier rock genres. Then in 2006 I took a trip to Holland and met a goth girl and was deeply impressed by her style and attitude. It was there that I had purchased my first gothic accessory, a pair of lace gloves. As I returned home, I became more and more interested in the style and so began to read about it and I quickly adopted it.

GGotW: What was it in Holland that caught your interest?
AN: It was the open-mindedness of the people. The lack of prejudice and their originality. To me, the possibility of having a different kind of lifestyle was something new, something I would never have thought about before.

GGotW: What led you to modeling?
AN: I was always a "cam girl". Whenever there was a photocamera around me, I would keep stalking the poor owner of the cam to take photos of me or give me the cam to take photos. I always considered it a fun thing, but it became more serious when I decided I want to study photography at university. So for practice, I was the easiest model to use and I started to really like what I could do by modeling.

GGotW: Do you get together with other goths in you area of Romania?
AN: The Romanian culture has always consisted of a melange of different cultures. The gothic style is a relatively new style in Romania. People would have probably got put in jail or even shot for such outrageous look and behavior during the Communism. So there aren't so many gothic people in Romania or gothic pubs. We just hang out with other rockers or people that know we are not some kind of dangerous psychos.

GGotW: Is there a large scene?
AN: I can't say it's very large, from what I've seen in other countries. It's a really small chance to bump into a goth while walking on the street. I'd say there are about 3 or 4 "active" gothic persons in each city and maybe about 20 in the capital. Well there are probably more, but most of them dress normal. There are few people here who accept us and we often get called "satanists", "witches" or "dead people" and we even risk getting beaten on the streets for being different. This is why some people chose to show their gothic side and outfits only on special occasions, like a gothic concert or party, which happen rarely anyway. But hopefully that will change in the years to come.

GGotW: Do you prefer to model or photograph?
AN: Mmm, I can't really chose one. I just like both very much. I'm used to taking pictures of me, but I also like to be the model for someone or take a photo of someone else. I can't imagine making a career only in modeling or only in photography. I guess I'll be always doing both. Right now my main focus is to improve my photography skills for university so I'm trying to take a wider range of photos, but I can't help not to put myself in front of the cam now and then.

GGotW: What do you do when you are not modeling?
AN: Many things. I study for my final exams, spend time with my boyfriend, go out on the weekends, play with my cat and dogs or chat with people on the internet or sometimes make accessories. I sometimes spend a lot of time on browsing through gothic clothing on ebay or sites of specialized shops, even though usually I won't buy anything. Or I'm looking on Deviantart to see what other photographers have done recently and for some new ideas.

Alia Noree is preparing for her first University interview which will take place in January 2009.

GGotW: What else have you been up to?
AN: I've started my account for crafts on Deviantart, and I'll be selling various pieces of hand-made unique accessories.

GGotW: How would you describe your style?
M
CAC: This is something that has been on my mind a lot lately. I just graduated Automotive School, and spent 13 months wearing the same thing 4 days a week, and nearly the same thing on the weekends. Black pants, t-shirt. I feel like, in that, i lost a lot of the style i had before i went to automotive school. I also feel like it ruined my awesome creativity as well, but that is another story in itself. My mind doesn't seem to process anything more than just a pair of pants and the first t-shirt a grab, these days. Before, and in high school, i always wore black mini-skirts and platform boots, a very stereotypical goth look. When modeling, there's mix of goth, rockabilly/pin-up and just a mess of colors. As far as my current style outside of that, ill get back to you when i figure it out. =P

GGotW: Who have you worked with?
MCAC: CANDYLUST, Tarilyn Quinn, Rusty "Shangri La" Tagliareni, S&S, Kencredible, Blue Box, Anilom Nor, Optimism, Glenn Tuttle and a bunch more... I also have a ton of shoots in the works.

GGotW: What has been your favorite shoot?
MCAC: That's a very hard question, I had TONS of full at the tu-tu shoot in the abandoned house with Rusty and Machine Sex. But I don't know if i really have a favorite.

GGotW:
What got you stared as a model?
MCAC: It was something I was always interested in. I hate to admit it, but I actually did go to modeling school and it was a waste of time. Then I found the lovely world of Model Mayhem, and haven't stopped since.

GGotW: You're a member of SNAPM. What is SNAPM?
MCAC: SNAPM stands for Social Networking for Artists, Photographers and Models. Its basically like a giant photoshoot, as well as a great place to network. Each month there are "featured" models and photographers, who display there work. There is usually a runway show, or a large contest in the form of a runway. There's also model pose off contests, where you can win money and cool prizes. If you live in the NY,NJ area, and you haven't gone yet, you must go at least once. Its worth it for any model and any photographer, no matter how experienced you are. SNAPMup.com for more info.

GGotW: How did you get involved with SNAPM?
MCAC: Through my friend Taryn ("Tarilyn Quinn"), the one who started it all, shes known my boyfriend for years and when i met her we hit it off. I always have LOTS of ideas and we discussed a lot of them which lead to me helping out.

GGotW: What is you role in SNAPM?
MCAC: Basically, I throw all my ideas at Taryn, and also am in charge of setting up the bigger contests (setting the concept and finding and dealing with all the models). Recently i have started scoopeing out designers for the runway shows, that's basically it.

GGotW: In your profile you mention automotive school, yet none of your shoots seem to feature a car, whats up with that?
MCAC: Well I'm not really into that bikini-tan-sexy thing that seems to go hand in hand with car modeling. I have shot with my car, but don't currently have those pictures posted anywhere. I would LOVE to do a pin up shoot while "working" on a car. But no one has really been right for that idea yet.

GGotW: Is your career in the auto industry?
MCAC: I am currently unemployed and pretty much wanna shoot myself when it comes to job hunting. Tons of my friends from automotive school already got laid off, because of the lack of work. Also, I don't want to be a technician (mechanic). I was looking for more of an office-like job in the field, called a Service Writer. But its a job that's nearly impossibly to get. All the places want 2+ years experience, but if you cant start somewhere, how could you possibly have 2 years experience doing it? Its a vicious cycle and a giant headache. I'm looking for jobs in other places now.

GGotW: With unlimited funds, what kind of photo-shoot would you like to do?
MCAC: Oh the fun i would have. I would probably start with an idea I've had forever, but i wont go into detail cause i don't want someone to steal it. Its a take-off of the story of Elizabeth Bathory, with a fetish twist. Other then that, i would put together my own picture-version of Alice in Wonderland in book form. Oh and my pin-up mechanic idea i mentioned early, and tons and tons more!

GGotW: What kind of music do you like?
MCAC: I like different things. None of my favorite bands really fit into the same category. But i guess there all different types of Metal.

GGotW: Where do you like to go to listen to it?
MCAC: My car! I have a 4 disc CD player in my car, I spend a lot of time in my car, driving to photo shoots and whatnot. If i'm alone my music is always blasting. Other then that, shows of course.

GGotW: Who are your top bands?
MCAC: Hanzel und Gretyl and Wednesday 13. Wednesday 13/Murderdolls has been my favorite since i was 13 years old, and that's probably gonna be that way forever. HuG is my newest fascination, and 90% of what I'm listening to right now. Other then that, I love Tool, APC, Cradle of Filth and Marilyn Manson.

GGotW: What do you want to do with your photographs?
MCAC: I am really just in this for the fun and for the art. I love doing photoshoots, i love seeing the new pictures, i love printing them and putting them in my book and posting them on my Model Mayhem. Im not looking for fame here, i just love to create. I intend of becoming a photographer one day, when i have the funds and the space.

GGotW: Who would you like to model with?
MCAC: Mosh, although she would totally outshine me. Other then that, i love my model friends that i model with now. Machine Sex, Miz Fritz, Dogma Candy and Dori-Bot to name a few.
